Your WordPress website’s posts, pages, categories, titles, and descriptions already form an organized knowledge base. In one click, RAG Sitemap preserves that structure as a plain-text hierarchy from overview through topics and subtopics to source content. RAG Chatbot lets your chosen AI narrow the path layer by layer and load only the source needed for an answer. Even lightweight models can navigate it without embeddings or a vector database.
What makes RAG Sitemap different
Long-term running cost can be $0. The plugin adds no fee. Gemini Flash Lite’s free API quota can handle roughly 50 to 100 replies per day.
No vector database. It uses your titles and categories as the retrieval path, without embeddings or a second index.
Built for organized sites. As a site grows, its hierarchy gives each step clearer boundaries instead of a larger similarity pool. Tested on 3B- and 8B-class models.
Bring your own AI. Use your own key with supported providers, including Google AI Studio, Mistral, and OpenRouter, or connect private vLLM.
Local conversation history. History stays in the visitor’s browser. Chat requests send selected messages and history to the chosen provider; the plugin developer does not receive them.
Visible and editable. Open the TXT map under uploads to see and improve what the chatbot navigates.
Design with an AI chat. Export Design.md, describe a look in ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini, then import the JSON. Twelve presets and responsive previews are included.

External Services
A connection test or chatbot message sends configured credentials, messages and enabled history, prompts, selected site content and URLs, model settings, and HTTP metadata to the chosen provider. Provider terms, limits, and charges apply.

Custom vLLM endpoint: supplied and controlled by the administrator; review its operator’s policies.

Remote media: browsers request administrator-configured image or .lottie URLs from their hosts and disclose IP addresses, headers, and requested URLs. Lottie runtime is local; review each host’s policies.

Privacy
The plugin adds suggested text to Settings > Privacy. Credentials are stored in WordPress and encrypted with AES-256-CBC when PHP OpenSSL is available.
Conversation content remains in browser local storage until cleared. A session ID and active queue waiter remain in session storage until the browser session ends.
The visitor IP is used locally only for rate limiting. A site-salted fingerprint is stored in a WordPress transient for 60 seconds; the raw IP is not stored there. Neither value is logged or sent to the developer or third parties. Site owners must disclose enabled services, sent data, and retention.
