原文外掛簡介

Pomp Product Personalizer is a product customizer for WooCommerce, made for shops that sell personalized products. It brings product personalization to your shop without a blank canvas, as a custom name on a product. Your customer picks a design, types a name, and sees it on the product straight away: a t-shirt, a mug, a cap, a tote bag, whatever you sell. When they order, you receive a print-ready vector file in the shape of the print area you set on the product. No proofs sent back and forth, no guessing what the customer meant.
Everything runs on your own server. There is no external service, no per-order fee and no account to sign up for.
Step-by-step video tutorials, from installing it to the print file: Pomp Product Personalizer: WooCommerce tutorials on YouTube.
Made for shops that print names on things

T-shirt and apparel shops: a quicker route than a full t-shirt designer, since the customer adds a name to a finished design instead of laying out a shirt from scratch
Personalized gifts: name mugs, birthday shirts, baby bodysuits, pillows, plush toys, Christmas ornaments
Team and event wear: club shirts, hen and stag party shirts, family reunion tees, school leavers’ hoodies
Print on demand and print shops: a product personalizer in front of your own production
Engraving and cutting: the output is vector, so it suits laser engraving and vinyl cutting as well as DTF, sublimation and screen printing

More than a product add-ons field
Product addons plugins give the customer a text box and leave you to picture the result. Here the name is drawn on the product as it is typed, in the design’s own font and place, and the order arrives with the finished print file. The customer sees what they are buying, and you print exactly that.
Set up a product once, sell every design on it
In the product configurator, customers choose the design first and the product second. So you set up a shirt or a mug only once: where the print sits, what color it prints in on each variation, and how it bends if the surface is curved. From then on every design in your catalog works on it, including the ones you add next month. A new slogan is just its text: type it, save it, and it is ready on every product.
How it works

Set up each product once: where the print sits and which color it prints in on each variation.
Add designs to your catalog, or import a whole batch from CSV. Each one works on every product straight away.
Customers pick a design, type their name, choose the product and its variation, and add it to the cart.
Every order carries a print file, SVG or PDF, ready for print.

Features

Ready in three clicks. On a fresh shop, Pomp → Setup makes the catalog and configurator pages, switches personalization on for the products you tick (or adds a sample T-shirt), and adds three sample designs.
Live preview on the real product. The product configurator draws the name on a photo of the product as it is typed, with no page reloads.
A Guide on every step. A Guide button walks the customer through what is on the screen, one option at a time, and never starts on its own. The product and design screens in the admin have one of their own.
Print-ready SVG or PDF with every order. Text is converted to vector outlines, so the file prints the same on any machine, with or without the font installed. Choose SVG, PDF or both for the whole shop, and change it per product.
Curved surfaces. A warp grid bends the print to follow a mug, a cap or a pillow. Set it up once and copy it to every product with the same shape.
Drawstrings over the print. An overlay, a transparent PNG of what lies over the print on the photo, goes over the design in every preview, so the name sits under a hoodie’s strings or behind a mug’s handle as it will on the real thing. It never reaches the print file.
A design catalog customers can search, with categories and a page of its own for every design, so search engines can find each one.
The shopper’s name on every design. A Your name field above the catalog draws the typed name on every design at once, remembers it in the shopper’s own browser, and fills it in when they open a design. Designs can be marked for him or for her, so shoppers see only the ones that fit.
Filters that show what is left. The filters sit in a sidebar beside the designs, each choice shows how many designs it leads to, and a choice with none is grayed out. A choice changes the designs in place, without loading the page again.
Blocks for the block editor. Design catalogue and Personalisation configurator, with their options in the block’s sidebar. Shortcodes do the same for the classic editor and page builders.
Designs built around a drawing. Place a line of text above, below or inside the artwork, with its own size, and keep the design’s own colors if it needs them.
One line larger than the rest. A line may take up to three times its share of the print area, the way a number stands under a name on a jersey.
Variable products. Color and size come from the variation, each color can have its own product photo, and colors show as swatches on the variant step.
Print color per variation, so the same design prints white on a black shirt and black on a white one.
Bulk CSV import for large catalogs.
Production email with a link to the print file, for whoever does the printing.
Your own fonts, uploaded as TrueType.

Pro
Pomp Product Personalizer Pro is the full version of this plugin, sold separately. It does everything this one does, and adds what takes it closer to a full product designer:

Custom text – the customer writes the wording themselves, line by line, choosing the font, spacing and margins, in as many lines as you allow.
Custom artwork – they upload their own SVG or image, which is checked and rebuilt before it ever reaches print.
Every side, named by you – print on up to five sides of one product, each named by you: a surname and number on the back and a crest on the sleeve, a name on one side of a mug and a photo on the other, both faces of a tote bag. Each side has its own photo, print area and warp, is filled in step by step in the configurator, and shows in the cart beside the others.
Spot colors in the PDF – name a print color as your printer knows it, PANTONE 186 C or White Ink, and the PDF carries it as a spot color of its own.
Personalized on the product’s own page – a custom text field on the product page, right above Add to cart, with a live preview on the product photo, for a product that needs no catalog.
Rows of your own categories – up to five rows above the designs, such as Occasion with Birthday, Wedding and Christmas, that narrow the designs down together with the other filters.
Team orders – a club, a team or a class orders one design with names and numbers on the jerseys and a size for each person, typed into a table or pasted from a spreadsheet. Everyone becomes an item of their own, with their own print file.
All print files in one ZIP – tick orders in the orders list and download every print file at once, each side in the product’s format, with a list of products, sizes, quantities and names.

This plugin is complete on its own and nothing in it is waiting to be unlocked. Pro is installed instead of it, never alongside; the designs, settings and orders are the same under either.
Where the files go, and when they are removed
Two files are written for every configuration a customer builds: a preview, and the print file itself. Both are SVG, both land in your uploads folder:

uploads/pomp-personalizer/generated/YEAR/MONTH/ for previews
uploads/pomp-personalizer/generated/print/YEAR/MONTH/ for print files

A print file’s name carries a secret part made from the configuration’s UUID and your site’s own salt, so its address cannot be guessed, not even by the customer who ordered it, and every folder holds an empty index file so it cannot be listed. The plugin writes no server configuration into your uploads folder; if you want the print folder closed to direct access as well, deny it in your server’s own configuration. Print files are handed out through the plugin, which checks who is asking.
A preview and a print file together take about 27 kB on the designs this was built against, ranging from 1 to 67 kB depending on how much text there is.
An hourly task clears up after browsing. A configuration that was never ordered expires after seven days, and its two files go with it. Anything attached to an order is left alone, however old – you have to be able to print what you have already sold. Temporary files are removed after a day, and previews left behind by deleted designs go the same way.
Seven days is a filter, not a fixed number: pomp_configuration_ttl_days moves it.
What it costs to run
The output is vector, so nothing is rasterized. There are no image libraries in the path that draws a design, no headless browser, no queue, and no calls to anyone else’s server.
Measured on the demo shop’s own hosting in 40 rounds, as the time each request takes beyond an empty request to the same site, so the network and WordPress itself are left out:

Drawing the name as it is typed: 18 ms (half of all rounds between 12 and 26 ms)
Preview: 26 ms
Preview, print file and adding to the cart: 29 ms
Memory beyond what WordPress already uses: under 0.1 MB, measured on a development machine

The print PDF, when you choose one, is made the first time it is downloaded and kept after that. For a print of text it adds no measurable time and about 2 MB of memory. A print that carries a large picture takes longer, once: about 0.9 s and 40 MB for a 2-megapixel transparent PNG.
In the browser, the configurator’s own script and styles come to about 76 kB compressed (45 kB script, 5 kB layout, 26 kB styles, and 3 kB more for the Guide when it is on), plus WordPress’s own React package, shared with anything else on the page that uses it. On the demo shop, a design page with the live configurator shows its largest element in about 1.2 s from an empty cache.
There is no background processing. Nothing is rendered until a customer asks for it, and the hourly cleanup is a single indexed query plus a few file deletions. Shared hosting is enough.
Imagick is used in exactly one place: the small raster thumbnail in the production email, because email clients do not render SVG. Without Imagick the email falls back to the vector preview and everything else carries on.
Fonts
Anton and Amatic SC are put in place when the plugin is first activated, so a new shop can draw a design straight away instead of having to find a font first. Both are Google Fonts under the SIL Open Font License; the license and its copyright notices ship with them. Delete one and it stays deleted – an update will not put it back.
Upload your own as well, as TrueType (.ttf). The design is traced glyph by glyph into a vector print file, so the font’s outlines have to be readable: WOFF and WOFF2 keep them compressed, and OpenType with CFF curves stores them in a form this cannot read. Google Fonts offers a .ttf for every family. The plugin also ships Space Mono and Inter, used for the configurator’s own interface.
