KODENZO Commerce Health is for WooCommerce store owners and the people who look after their stores. Run a scan and it checks the setup that checkout depends on: the checkout and cart pages and what is on them, checkout address fields, enabled payment gateways and whether they are in test mode, recent failed orders, shipping and tax configuration, WP-Cron and Action Scheduler health, the database, and WordPress and plugin update status.
You get a 0–100 health score and, for each problem, a plain-language explanation of why it matters and what to do about it. Results appear in wp-admin, on the Site Health screen, and as a CSV or PDF report you can share.
All 34 checks are read-only: they change nothing and send nothing anywhere. They read your store’s configuration and recent order counts, never customer details. The scan makes one request, to your own site’s homepage.
Beyond scans, the plugin shows your store’s last 7 days of orders, revenue, average order and failed payments next to your health score, sends a regular store health email (weekly by default) that reminds you to scan, and warns you by email when a steady store stops getting orders. These only read order counts, totals and dates, never customer details, and each can be turned off in Settings.
The optional Test order tool is different, and it only does anything when an administrator presses its button. It creates one private test product, then places one clearly marked, cancelled test order through your own checkout by making requests from your site to itself. It does not test your real payment methods, it blocks the site’s emails while it runs, and the test orders stay in WooCommerce until you delete them with the “Delete all test orders” button. Nothing is sent to Kodenzo or any other server.
This free plugin works on its own. All 34 checks, the health score, the store figures, the reminder and quiet-period emails, and the exports are included, and nothing is locked. The one deliberate limit is the Test order tool: in the free plugin it is manual (you press the button, one test order at a time) and checks the basic checkout only. If you also want continuous monitoring and fuller checkout testing, a separate, optional paid add-on, KODENZO Commerce Health PRO, needs this plugin and adds background monitoring of payments, checkout JavaScript errors, plugin changes and checkout speed, scheduled test orders, and email alerts.

34 diagnostic checks across seven categories — Commerce, Reliability, Performance, Database, Configuration, Security, and Integrations — covering WooCommerce setup and configuration, storefront reachability, shipping and tax configuration, WP-Cron and Action Scheduler health, object cache and autoloaded options size, database connectivity and required tables, PHP version and memory limits, SSL and URL consistency, search engine visibility, WordPress core and plugin update status, and payment gateway configuration.
Checkout checks — confirms the checkout and cart pages actually contain the WooCommerce checkout and cart, reports removed checkout address fields, compares recent failed orders with finished orders (order counts only), and flags an enabled Stripe, PayPal or Braintree gateway left in test mode. These read only the on/off test-mode setting, never keys or credentials.
A clear health score — every scan produces an overall 0-100 score, a Healthy/Attention/Unhealthy/Critical status, and a per-category breakdown, plus a score trend chart across recent scans.
Store activity — orders, revenue, average order and failed payments for the last 7 days, compared with the 7 days before, on the Overview screen and in the Dashboard widget. It reads order counts, totals and dates only, never customer details, and test orders are never counted.
Store health email — a regular email with your latest scan result, your store figures and a reminder to scan. Choose daily, weekly (the default) or monthly under Settings, or turn it off. It does not run a scan by itself. It is switched off when the PRO add-on is active, because PRO sends its own weekly summary.
Orders gone quiet warning — once a day the plugin looks at the dates of your recent orders. If a steady store (at least 14 orders in the week before its last order) goes quiet for much longer than usual (5 times the usual gap between orders, never less than 12 hours), you get one email asking you to check your checkout and payments, and another when orders resume. A quiet period is not always a problem, but it is often the first sign that customers cannot check out. The warning also shows on the Overview screen and can be turned off in Settings. Because it runs once a day, the email can arrive up to a day after orders stop.
Issue tracking — findings are deduplicated into persistent issues with a Detected/Active/Resolved/Reopened lifecycle, so the same underlying problem is tracked across scans instead of being reported as new every time. Each issue explains why it matters, what was found, and what to do about it.
A full admin dashboard — Overview, Diagnostics (filterable by category), Issues (filterable by severity), Scan history and Settings, all under a single “KODENZO Commerce Health” menu in wp-admin.
WordPress Site Health integration — your latest scan results also appear as a dedicated tab on the built-in Site Health screen (Tools → Site Health), alongside a summary card on the main wp-admin Dashboard.
Export scan reports — download any scan as a CSV or a branded PDF report, from the Overview screen or from Scan history, for sharing or record-keeping outside wp-admin.
Works with or without WooCommerce — WooCommerce-dependent checks report “Not applicable” rather than failing if WooCommerce isn’t installed or active; every other check still runs normally.
Configurable Settings — scan-history retention, how often the store health email is sent (or off), the orders-gone-quiet warning on or off, a critical-issue email alert (on by default, sent when a scan you run finds a new critical issue) with a test-email button, To and CC recipients for alert emails, and an opt-in “delete data on uninstall” toggle (off by default, so nothing is removed unless you explicitly turn it on).
WooCommerce HPOS compatible — the plugin declares compatibility with WooCommerce high-performance order storage and reads order counts in a way that works with it turned on or off.
WP-CLI — run a scan from the command line with wp kodenzo-ch scan.
REST API — scans, results and settings are available under /wp-json/kodenzo-ch/v1/ to logged-in administrators (the manage_options capability), for custom dashboards or tooling.
Developer hooks — kodenzo_ch_register_diagnostics (add your own checks), kodenzo_ch_issue_changed (runs when an issue is new, reopened or changes severity) and kodenzo_ch_alert_recipients (adjust who receives alert emails).
Optional PRO add-on — an “Upgrade to PRO” screen and Plugins-screen link explain what the separate paid add-on adds. Both are hidden when PRO is active. The free Test order tool is manual and limited to the basic checkout.
Test order (manual) — create a private, hidden test product, then place one clearly marked test order through your real checkout (block or classic) to see that the basic checkout flow works. Administrators only, and only when you press the button. It uses a hidden test payment method, so it does not test your real payment methods, and it does not test shipping, tax or coupons. While it runs, the site’s emails are blocked and WooCommerce webhooks are held back. The order is cancelled at once and kept until you remove it with “Delete all test orders”.
Diagnostics are read-only — the 34 checks only read your site’s configuration and recent order counts and never modify settings, content or WooCommerce data. The Test order tool creates an order only when you press its button.
No telemetry — no data is sent to Kodenzo or anyone else. The emails the plugin sends (critical issues, the store health email and the quiet-period warning) go only to the addresses you set, through your own site’s mail. The plugin only makes requests to your own site: the homepage check during a scan, and, when you press Run test order, a few requests to your own cart, checkout and WooCommerce APIs.
Translation-ready — every user-facing string is wrapped for translation.
