Once activated, it fits right into your existing workflow — no complicated setup, no new screens to learn. Just upload images like you normally would, and let Alt Goblin generate clear, descriptive alt text for you.

Each generation uses 1 credit and 1 credit = 1 alt text. Free monthly credits are included, and additional credit packs are available if you need them.

Usage
Generate alt text for a single image
Open an image in the Media Library attachment details/modal.
Click Generate Alt Text (or Re-generate Alt Text).
Optionally enable Add keywords and provide comma-separated keywords.
Save/update the attachment if needed.
Bulk generation
Go to Settings > Alt Goblin > Bulk Generation.
Click Start Bulk Generation.
Monitor progress in real time.
Use Stop Processing if you want to pause after the current image finishes.
Perfect for cleaning up older sites in just a few clicks.
Credits
Go to Settings > Alt Goblin > Credits.
View free monthly, paid, and total remaining credits.
Purchase one-time credit packs if needed.
Add your API key under the Settings tab to activate paid credits.
Free monthly credits are always used before paid credits.
External Services
This plugin connects to the Alt Goblin API (https://api.altgoblin.com) to generate alt text using AI. This is a third-party service operated by the plugin author. Privacy policy, terms of service.
If you choose to purchase additional credits beyond the free monthly credits, this plugin also links to a Stripe-hosted checkout page (https://buy.stripe.com) to collect payment. Stripe privacy policy.
The following data is transmitted to these services:
On plugin activation: Your site URL, used to register your site and issue a unique site token.
On alt text generation: A resized, base64-encoded version of the image, a prompt string, optional user-provided keywords, your site token, and your API key (if configured).
On credit purchase: You are redirected to a Stripe-hosted checkout page. The checkout link includes your email address as a prefilled parameter.
