Easily set up video call rooms or random video chat from WordPress. Choose the legacy HTML5 Videochat interface or the new Webcam App with CallChat and RandomChat. No downloads required. Just share the room link for instant connection.
This plugin implements 2 videochat modes:
1. Private 2 Way Video Call Rooms
2. Random Videochat with Country/Gender Matchmaking
New: P2P WebRTC is now supported with the new VideoWhisper WebRTC server + STUN/TURN, recommended for optimal latency and quality in private calls. The plugin can now also use the Webcam Streaming WebRTC app as an alternative room interface for CallChat and RandomChat.

VideoCall rooms can be managed by users from frontend and shared by access link.
Random videochat is accessible on a custom page, where users are randomly matched with other users that access that page.

Setup web based HTML5 videocalls on a WordPress site using VideoWhisper HTML5 Videochat.
A Video Chat page is added to the website where members can create and manage their rooms and also a page for random videochat. Can be disabled from settings. Functionality can be implemented as shortcode.
There is a settings page with multiple parameters and permissions. Who can setup rooms and access application can be configured (everybody, members, list of members/roles).

Hosting Requirements
This plugin has requirements beyond regular WordPress hosting specifications: specific live streaming servers, certificates, licensing, tools and configuration for HTML5 live camera streaming.
This implementation supports 2 options for WebRTC live streaming servers:
P2P via VideoWhisper WebRTC with STUN/TURN – recommend for optimal latency
Relayed streaming via Wowza SE live streaming
When using the new Webcam App alternative, go to VideoCalls > Server, set VideoCall App to Webcam App, then configure the Webcam App tab and the VideoWhisper WebRTC server/token fields.

External Services
This plugin can optionally connect to VideoWhisper Remote Connect when an administrator clicks Connect in the VideoWhisper account settings. The default service URL is https://consult.videowhisper.com.
Remote Connect is a free registration-based onboarding service for testing and low-friction setup. It can register or log in a VideoWhisper contact, create/select a free WebRTC streaming account, import socket/account/token configuration, and push this site’s Webcam App login URL so the plugin can be tested without manual server configuration.
Data sent to the service can include the plugin identifier, WordPress site URL/domain, administrator-entered contact name/email, registration form answers, confirmation PINs, selected account token, and generated login URL needed for automated configuration.
Using Remote Connect is optional. Administrators can instead enter compatible WebRTC server settings manually or configure a separate compatible CRM/streaming service URL.
