Active development and support for System Requirements Check have officially ended.
Why? The technical environment has evolved, making this plugin antiquated. Web standards have moved away from client-side technologies like Adobe Flash Player and Java Runtime Environment (JRE), which this plugin was originally designed to check. Modern web browsers and WordPress core now handle environment baseline checks natively, rendering this specific client-side check obsolete.
Closing Date: This plugin will be officially closed to new downloads on the WordPress.org repository on December 31, 2026.
What this means: No new features, bug fixes, or security patches will be released. The plugin is provided “as-is.” Existing installations will continue to function but will receive no further compatibility updates.
Support: The support forums will no longer be monitored.
