原文外掛簡介
Smackcoders Pulse Analytics brings Google Analytics 4 into your WordPress admin, for blogs, business sites, and online stores alike. Instead of logging into a separate Google Analytics account and digging through menus that were never built for regular site owners, you connect your GA4 property once and your numbers show up where you already work.
It is built for bloggers and publishers who want to see what content earns attention, business site owners who want a simple view of traffic and engagement, marketers who want to know which forms and links turn visitors into leads, affiliate marketers who need to know which partners get clicked, and WooCommerce and Easy Digital Downloads site owners who want analytics and store detection in the same place.
This is a reporting plugin for Google Analytics 4, not a replacement for it. Your analytics numbers come from your own GA4 property, so you keep full ownership of your data and can still use Google Analytics whenever you need a deeper report. Universal Analytics is not supported.
GA4 dashboard inside WordPress
The Dashboard Overview is the home of the plugin. It runs on live GA4 data and shows, at a glance:
Active visitors right now
Sessions, with a comparison against the previous period
Page views, with pages per session
Average session duration, with the change from the previous period
Engagement rate, with the change from the previous period
Below the KPI cards, a traffic trend chart switches between Traffic, Engagement, and Referrals views. The Traffic view summarises sessions, engaged sessions, and key event rate above the chart, so you can see how your audience moves over time. Supporting widgets break your audience down further:
New vs. returning visitors
Device type, split into mobile, desktop, and tablet
Browser used, shown as percentages
Top Pages, listing page path and views
Visitor Geography, listing country and visitors
A View selector in the toolbar opens full drill-down reports without leaving the dashboard:
Top Pages, with URL path, views, sessions, new users, and bounce rate
Top Countries, with country and total visitors
Source / Medium, with each source and medium and its total sessions
KPI cards and widgets can be dragged into the order you prefer, and your layout is saved in your browser. Reset Layout restores the default arrangement, and Sync Data refreshes cached report data on demand. Once you connect your Google account, your GA4 Property ID is shown in the toolbar.
If your site has no store plugin, the dashboard runs in Website analytics mode. Traffic and engagement reports work in full, and store revenue widgets stay hidden until a store plugin is active.
Global date picker
One date picker in the admin header controls the range for the dashboard and the free reports. Choose Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days, Last 90 Days, or set a Custom Range, and every widget, chart, and table follows the same period, so numbers always line up when you compare them.
Forms Conversion report
See how your forms perform, not only how many people submit them. Forms are tracked automatically on the public side of your site, with nothing to map and no code to add, and every form appears in one report:
Form Impressions, counted when a form scrolls into view
Form Starts, counted when a visitor begins filling a field
Conversions, counted on every successful submission
Conversion Rate, submissions divided by impressions
A Form Activity Trend chart lets you switch impressions, starts, and conversions on and off across your chosen dates, with a percentage change against the previous period in the tooltip. A forms table then lists each form with its own impressions, starts, conversions, and conversion rate. Click any row to open Form Details, which shows the form’s numbers and the top pages where it performed.
Because starts and conversions are reported separately, you can spot forms that people begin but abandon, and fix them where it matters.
Supported forms include WPForms, Gravity Forms, Contact Form 7, Formidable Forms, Ninja Forms, Forminator, Elementor forms, Divi forms, WooCommerce forms, WordPress comment forms, and generic HTML forms.
Affiliate and outbound link tracking
Affiliate and outbound clicks are classified and tracked automatically, with no manual link tagging. Once you tell the plugin how your affiliate links look, every matching click is recorded and sent to Google Analytics 4 as a structured event.
A master switch to turn the tracking engine on or off
affiliate_link_click events that carry the partner, the destination domain, and affiliate campaign details
outbound_link_click events for external links leaving your domain
Affiliate URL prefixes for cloaked links, such as /go/, /out/, /recommend/, and /recommends/
Affiliate domains that should always be treated as affiliate links
Partner name mappings, so a domain such as amazon.com is reported as Amazon Associates
Excluded domains, excluded URL prefixes, and ignored CSS selectors for links you do not want tracked
An option to respect visitor privacy and cookie consent before any link activity is recorded
The Affiliate Links report merges GA4 events with your site’s own click data and turns them into numbers: affiliate clicks, outbound clicks, unique links, and your top partner, each compared with the previous period. Four tabs organise the detail:
Top Links, with the best-performing affiliate destinations
Partners, with clicks rolled up by partner
Source Pages, with the pages on your site that sent the clicks
Outbound, with general external destinations
Downloadable link tracking
File downloads are tracked automatically for the file types you choose. The default list covers pdf, zip, docx, xlsx, csv, txt, mp3, mp4, and epub, and you can edit it to match the files you actually offer. It suits lead magnets, brochures, price lists, podcasts, and any other download you want to measure.
Audience & Links report
The Audience & Links report brings link and audience activity into one overview, in three tabs:
Outbound Links, with Inbound Links (the pages on your site where clicks happened), Outbound Links (the external destinations visitors left for), and Affiliate Links, each with click counts
File Downloads, listing the files visitors download and how often
Demographics, with an age distribution chart and a gender chart
Link and download data is merged from Google Analytics 4 and your site’s own click data for the date range you choose. If Google is not connected yet and no clicks have been recorded, the report shows clearly labelled sample data so you can preview the layout. Once you are connected, the tables show your real numbers, and they stay empty until visitors click. Demographic charts need Google Signals to be turned on in your GA4 property, plus enough traffic.
Session and engagement tracking
A lightweight session heartbeat records active sessions and time on page, which feeds the engagement numbers on your dashboard. Raw engagement telemetry is kept on your own site for the number of days you choose in Downloads & Link Paths, with 30 days as the recommended default, and a daily cleanup removes anything older automatically.
Easy connection to Google Analytics 4
Everything you need to connect lives on one Analytics Configuration screen:
GA4 Measurement ID (starts with G-), which powers frontend tracking
Measurement Protocol API Secret, for reliable server-side event delivery
Google OAuth Client ID and Client Secret from Google Cloud Console
GA4 Property ID, which lets the plugin read your reports
An Authorized Redirect URI you can copy in one click and paste into Google Cloud Console
Your client secret is stored encrypted in your database. A status panel on the same screen shows whether you are connected, along with your property ID and token status.
Works for blogs, business sites, and stores
Choose how the plugin treats your site: Auto-detect (recommended), Website or blog for traffic only, or Online store for commerce reports. The plugin detects WooCommerce, Easy Digital Downloads, MemberPress, and GiveWP, and it lets you set your site timezone and reporting currency so daily numbers line up with your WordPress settings. A store plugin is only needed for revenue and order reports, which are part of Pro. Every other feature works on any WordPress site.
Privacy controls
Visitor IP addresses are always anonymized in frontend tracking, with nothing to switch on
Respect visitor privacy and cookie consent for link tracking
OAuth client secret stored encrypted
You remain responsible for your own consent banner and privacy policy. Full EU compliance tooling is part of Pro.
Moving from MonsterInsights
If MonsterInsights is installed, or has left its settings behind, the plugin detects it and offers a one-click import of settings such as your GA4 Measurement ID and Property ID, so you do not have to start from scratch.
Built for developers and agencies
WP-CLI commands under pulse-analytics for status, doctor, db, cache, sync, migrate, and telemetry
Hooks for adding custom dimensions to Google Analytics tracking
REST API access for users with the manage_options capability
Translation-ready, with a POT template included
Responsive admin interface that works on desktop, tablet, and mobile
Pro features
Everything above is free with no trial period and no feature that stops working after a set number of days. Smackcoders Pulse Analytics Pro is a separate, optional upgrade for sites that want deeper reports, commerce insights, and automation on top of this free foundation:
Real-Time Visitors, a live report with active users, the pages they are viewing, and visitor geography, refreshing automatically.
Traffic Overview, with channels, landing pages, source/medium, and AI referral traffic from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity in one report.
Google Search Console Integration, with search queries, impressions, click-through rate, and average position inside WordPress.
eCommerce Analytics, a nine-tab WooCommerce report covering revenue, funnel, coupons, refunds, geography, and cart abandonment, plus the Revenue, Conversion Rate, Average Order, Top Selling Products, and Shopping Funnel widgets on your dashboard.
Campaign & UTM Builder, to build, save, and normalise tracking links matched back to real GA4 performance.
User Journey Tracking, a visual path from first click to checkout, plus a saved journey timeline on every WooCommerce order.

Advanced Reporting & AI Analytics (Ask AI), to ask plain-English questions and get answers from live GA4 data, plus structured Advanced Reports.
Site Notes & Annotations, to pin dated notes on your GA4 traffic charts for launches, campaigns, and changes.
Popular Posts, with GA4-ranked content shown through a widget, Gutenberg block, or shortcode.
Media Tracking, a video engagement funnel with start, 25, 50, and 75 percent milestones and completion, for YouTube, Vimeo, and HTML5 video.
AMP Tracking, with GA4 pageview reporting for AMP pages compared against standard pages.
Custom Dimensions, which sends post type, category, author, and other details to GA4 so every report is more specific.
EU Compliance & Privacy, with consent-gated tracking, PII stripping, and a visitor-facing opt-out for GDPR-conscious sites.
PPC Ads Tracking, with conversion tracking across Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and Snapchat.
Page Insights, with on-demand GA4 stats for a single post or page, in the editor sidebar and posts list.
None of this is required to use the free plugin well. It exists for sites that have outgrown the core dashboard.

Requirements
WordPress 6.4 or later
PHP 7.4 or later
A Google Analytics 4 property (for reporting and tracking)
WooCommerce is not required. The plugin works on any WordPress site without WooCommerce. When WooCommerce and Easy Digital Downloads is active, additional ecommerce tracking and store-aware dashboard widgets become available.
External services
Smackcoders Pulse Analytics connects to Google services to send your tracking data to Google Analytics 4 and to read your reports back into WordPress. No connection is made until you enter your GA4 details and authorize your Google account.
Google Analytics 4 (Google Tag and Measurement Protocol)
This plugin performs analytics tracking as an external service. On the public site it enqueues the official Google tag script from https://www.googletagmanager.com/gtag/js?id=YOUR_MEASUREMENT_ID (googletagmanager.com) and sends page views and interaction events, such as link clicks, file downloads, and form views, starts, and submissions, to Google Analytics. If you add a Measurement Protocol API Secret, events are also sent server-side to https://www.google-analytics.com. Data is sent whenever a visitor loads a page or triggers a tracked event.

Google OAuth and the Google Analytics Data API
When you authorize your Google account, the plugin talks to accounts.google.com and oauth2.googleapis.com to obtain and refresh an access token, then requests your reports from analyticsdata.googleapis.com using your GA4 Property ID. Your Client ID, Client Secret, and access tokens are sent to Google for this purpose, and the requests happen when you connect and when reports are loaded or synced.
