Nimblura is a privacy-friendly WordPress image optimizer that processes images on your own server and converts supported media to WebP. It can automatically convert supported uploads to WebP, bulk-optimize existing Media Library images, keep restorable originals, and show storage savings from a dedicated admin dashboard.
The plugin keeps the native WordPress attachment ID when an image is converted. That helps Gutenberg, Elementor, Divi, Beaver Builder, WooCommerce, themes, and code using wp_get_attachment_image() continue working with the same attachment record.

Supported source formats
JPEG/JPG/JPE/JFIF and PNG are enabled by default. Extended formats are opt-in because support depends on the PHP/ImageMagick build installed by your hosting provider.

All successful conversions output WebP.
Safe defaults
JPEG and PNG conversion are enabled by default.
Extended raster and camera RAW formats are disabled by default.
SVG and EPS rasterization are disabled by default and require explicit administrator opt-in.
Plugin-added extended/vector upload MIME types are restricted to administrators.
Input size, decoded megapixels, and frame/page counts are checked before conversion.
SVG input is restricted and rejected when potentially active/external content is detected.
Conversion failure leaves the source image intact instead of silently publishing a broken replacement.
Page builder and WooCommerce compatibility
Nimblura works at the WordPress attachment/file level instead of replacing builder content. Converted media keeps the original attachment ID, and WordPress attachment metadata is rebuilt when the active file format changes. This design is compatible with standard Media Library consumers, including Gutenberg and major page builders.
Privacy
Nimblura processes images locally with PHP GD and/or Imagick/ImageMagick installed on your WordPress server. The plugin does not upload image contents, site data, usage analytics, or personal information to the plugin author or to an external conversion service.
The admin interface includes links to the author’s public developer profile and LinkedIn page. Those links are only opened when an administrator chooses to click them.
Project-name clarification
WebP is an image format developed by Google. Nimblura is an independent WordPress plugin and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google. The term WebP is used descriptively to identify the image format the plugin can create.
Security
Administrative screens and actions require the manage_options capability.
AJAX and admin actions use WordPress nonces in addition to capability checks.
User-controlled values are sanitized/validated and rendered admin output is escaped.
The plugin does not enable ALLOW_UNFILTERED_UPLOADS.
Extended/vector MIME types introduced by the plugin are administrator-only.
Source file size, decoded dimensions, and frame/page counts are constrained before conversion.
Original backups use unpredictable tokens.
The plugin does not load executable code from third-party services.
Image decoding ultimately depends on server libraries such as GD, ImageMagick, libheif, LibRaw, or Ghostscript. Hosting providers/site administrators should keep those packages patched.
