Neutrope Blueprint Drafts is a controlled Blueprint-based draft creation workflow for editorial teams, agencies, and content-heavy WordPress sites.
Mark a post, page, or supported custom post type as a Blueprint, select a reusable Copy Profile, and review exactly what will happen before creating a draft. Neutrope Blueprint Drafts keeps the source relationship visible in both editors and provides a filtered Duplicate Manager for editorial oversight.
Blueprint workflow
Mark reusable content with Use as Blueprint in the editor.
Open Tools → Neutrope Blueprint Drafts to see available Blueprints.
Select Create Draft, choose a Copy Profile, and review the Preflight Safety Report.
Confirm to create a draft and open it in the editor.
Use source tracking or Duplicate Manager to move between the source and created draft.
Reusable Copy Profiles
Version 0.3.0 includes four built-in profiles:
Full Draft Copy — copies all supported content, media, organization, and structure settings.
Content Only — copies title, content, and excerpt without media, taxonomies, custom fields, or structure settings.
Structure Only — copies title, taxonomies, custom fields, hierarchy, menu order, and discussion settings without body content.
Landing Page Draft — copies content, featured image, and custom fields without hierarchy, taxonomies, or discussion settings.
Profiles are fixed, lightweight presets. They require no custom database table and can be extended by developers through the wpqd_copy_profiles filter.
Preflight Safety Report
Blueprint creation always passes through Preflight. Changing the selected profile re-renders the copy and exclusion lists before anything is created.
The Safety Report confirms permanent guarantees:
The new item is always a draft.
The slug is not copied.
Temporary WordPress metadata is excluded.
The Blueprint flag is not inherited.
Source tracking is added.
It also summarizes detectable source facts, including source status, featured image, custom field count, taxonomy term count, and password protection.
Source tracking
Every created copy stores its source in the private _wpqd_source_id post meta field. The created draft editor links back to its source. The source editor lists up to ten tracked items created from it. Links are shown only when the current user can edit the related item.
Duplicate Manager
The Tools → Neutrope Blueprint Drafts → Duplicate Manager view shows source and duplicate titles, status, post type, creation date, author, and authorized edit links.
Editorial teams can filter tracked relationships by source post type, duplicate status, creator, and whether the source still exists. Title search covers both authorized source titles and duplicate titles.
Existing quick actions remain available
The original Duplicate and Duplicate & Edit row actions remain available and use the backward-compatible Full Draft Copy behavior. Neutrope Blueprint Drafts adds its actions without removing Edit, Quick Edit, Trash, View, or actions added by other plugins.
