原文外掛簡介

WordPress Uptime Monitoring that tells you your site is down before your customers do. This plugin connects your website to WPCentrify, a free uptime monitoring service that checks your site every 5 minutes and emails you the moment it stops loading. When it’s back up, you get a second email saying how long it was down.
Most website owners find out about downtime the worst way: a customer calls, a sale is lost, or an advert keeps sending people to a page that won’t open. Hosts have outages, domains expire, updates break things and servers run out of memory, often at night or at the weekend, when nobody is looking.
WPCentrify is a website uptime checker that never stops looking. It loads your site from outside, exactly as a visitor would, around the clock. Setup takes about two minutes: install the plugin, paste one code from your free WPCentrify account, and you’re covered.
What is uptime monitoring?
Uptime monitoring means checking a website again and again, day and night, to make sure it still loads. When a check fails, the uptime monitor alerts you straight away, so you can fix the problem before visitors and customers notice. “Uptime” is the share of time your website is up and working, usually shown as a percentage such as 99.9%.
How WPCentrify uptime monitoring works

Every 5 minutes, WPCentrify loads your website from its own servers, the way a visitor would.
If your site does not answer, WPCentrify checks again to make sure it is really down, not just slow for a moment.
Once the outage is confirmed, you get an email.
When your site is back up, you get a second email saying how long it was down.
Every outage is saved, so you can see your uptime history in your WPCentrify dashboard.

What you get

Free uptime checks every 5 minutes. One website is free for good. Paid plans check as often as every minute.
Downtime alerts by email. An email when your site goes down, and another when it’s back, with how long it was down.
No false alarms from one slow page. A site is only marked down after several failed checks in a row.
Uptime history. See every outage and your uptime percentage over time.
Smarter than a ping. The plugin also reports from inside WordPress, so WPCentrify can tell a server that is down from a site where only WordPress has stopped working.
Two-minute setup. Install, paste one code, done. Nothing to configure.
Lightweight and private. No cookies, nothing about your visitors, and no effect on page speed.

You need a free WPCentrify account. Until you connect your website with a code from that account, the plugin sends nothing anywhere.
Why use an uptime monitor plugin, not just an external uptime checker?
An external uptime checker can only see whether your home page answered. Because this plugin also runs inside WordPress, WPCentrify knows more: whether WordPress itself is running, whether its scheduled tasks are working, and whether your site is stuck in maintenance mode after an update. You also see your uptime in the same WPCentrify dashboard you can later use for updates, backups and security.
Who it’s for

Website owners and small businesses who want to know straight away when their site goes down, without paying for a monitoring tool.
Online shops, where every minute of downtime is lost sales.
Freelancers and agencies looking after clients’ WordPress sites, who want to hear about an outage before the client does.

Uptime monitoring for multiple WordPress sites
Looking after more than one website? WPCentrify shows the uptime of every site you manage in one dashboard. Paid WPCentrify plans cover more websites and add tools for managing them, such as updates, backups, security and client reports. Those come with the full WPCentrify plugin, which you download from your WPCentrify account; this plugin never installs or changes plugins. Learn more at wpcentrify.com.
What this plugin does not do
It only reports that your website is alive. It cannot update, install, activate, deactivate or delete anything; it does not sign anybody in, create users, take backups or change your pages; it adds nothing to your pages and records nothing about your visitors.
About WPCentrify
WPCentrify is the company that makes this plugin and runs the uptime monitoring service. WPCentrify is an independent company and is not affiliated with or endorsed by WordPress.org or the WordPress Foundation.
External services
This plugin connects your website to WPCentrify (api.wpcentrify.com), the uptime monitoring service it exists to use. Nothing is sent before you connect the website with a connection code from your WPCentrify account, and nothing is ever sent about your visitors.
What is sent, and when:

When you press Connect: the connection code you pasted, your website’s address (home and site URL), and its WordPress, PHP and plugin versions, and whether it is a multisite network. WPCentrify answers with an identifier and a secret for the website, which are stored encrypted in your database.
Every few minutes while connected (the report): the website’s address and its WordPress, PHP and plugin versions. This is how WPCentrify knows the website and its WordPress are running.
About once a minute while connected (the liveness signal), only at the end of a request your website is already serving and only once WPCentrify has asked for it: the website’s identifier, a counter, the website’s clock, whether the last reports reached WPCentrify, whether WordPress’s scheduled tasks are running on time, whether WordPress is in maintenance mode, and the WordPress, PHP and plugin versions.
When you activate or deactivate the plugin while connected: that the plugin was switched on or off.

Every request is signed with the website’s secret, and the plugin only acts on replies signed by WPCentrify.
WPCentrify also contacts your website from its own servers: it loads your home page to check it is up, and it calls three addresses this plugin adds: /wp-json/marqira-uptime-monitor/v1/health-ping (which says only that the plugin is installed), /wp-json/marqira-uptime-monitor/v1/liveness (which answers only requests signed by WPCentrify), and /wp-json/marqira-uptime-monitor/v1/report-now (which also answers only requests signed by WPCentrify, and does one thing: sends the plugin’s usual report straight away, which is how the plugin learns at once that you removed the website from your account).
