KXNotes Image Paste Optimizer streamlines image preparation for WordPress tutorial writers, independent bloggers, and content publishers.
It focuses on a repetitive part of writing: saving a screenshot, resizing it, converting it to a web-friendly format, renaming it, uploading it to the Media Library, adding alt text, and inserting it into the post.
After activation, you can paste or drag images directly into the Gutenberg editor. The plugin can:
Detect clipboard screenshots and local image files.
Resize images to a configured maximum width, with a default of 1200 pixels.
Output WebP by default, with optional AVIF, JPEG, or original-format output.
Process new JPEG, PNG, WebP, and AVIF files that use the WordPress core upload or sideload flow through one server-side pipeline; GIF files remain unchanged.
Cover Featured Image button uploads, Media Library uploads, and blocks such as Gallery, Cover, and Media & Text when they use the core media API.
Finish resizing and format conversion before attachment metadata, thumbnails, or downstream storage integrations are created.
Follow the default WordPress intermediate-image policy or generate only selected registered sizes.
Keep WordPress 7.1 editor uploads on the server-side media path while optimization is enabled, so format conversion, source backup, and size selection remain consistent.
Keep a randomly named source backup outside the public Web root and record versioned processing state for each processed attachment.
Restore an attachment from its source backup without changing its current URL or output format.
Generate readable file names from the post title or nearest preceding heading.
Fill image alt text automatically.
Insert the image at the current editor position.
Accept image drops on the Featured Image control.
Process local uploads from an Image block.
Import a remote Image block URL into the Media Library only after explicit editor confirmation.

Privacy and external services
The plugin does not send images to a third-party server by default. It does not call an AI service, perform remote telemetry, or collect site URLs, post titles, image contents, or usage data.
Clipboard images and local files are uploaded to your own WordPress site and processed there before the attachment is created. When source backups are enabled, those files are stored outside the public Web root by default. Existing Media Library items are not reprocessed when selected again.
Remote Image blocks never trigger a network request automatically. The editor must confirm an import action first. Browser reads and server-side fallback downloads have hard byte limits; server downloads also use per-user locking and rate limits before entering the image pipeline.
File names and alt text
The plugin provides two file-name modes:
Pinyin slug: a predictable offline option for Chinese post titles.
Local English slug: uses a bundled terminology map and falls back to Pinyin when it cannot make a reliable match.
Alt text uses the post title or nearest preceding heading and includes an image sequence number by default.
