Internal Comments is a plugin that lets you post admin-facing comments that are only visible to users with admin-area access on any registered post type.
After selecting the post types that support internal comments in the plugin’s settings, a new metabox will appear on the edit screen of posts belonging to those post types. Users with appropriate permissions will now be able to post new internal comments.
Here is a short overview of the features offered by this plugin:
Internal comments can be enabled on all registered post types for which WordPress auto-generates the UI screens.
Administrators can view a list of all internal comments posted on the site through a new submenu point under the Comments admin menu.
The number of internal comments a post has can be viewed in a new column on the WordPress posts list table screen.
[Premium] Internal comments can be quick-viewed from the WordPress posts list column without opening the single post edit screen.
[Premium] Internal comments can be marked as private so that they are only visible to the original author and administrators.
[Premium] Internal comments can be edited and replied to inline.
Premium support and features
Some of the features mentioned above are only bundled with the premium version of our plugin available here. It is perfectly possible, however, to use the free version and extend it via filters and actions with your own version of the same premium features.
