Honeypot Anti-Spam is a WordPress anti-spam plugin that allows you to protect comment forms using the honeypot technique.
By using the honeypot technique, if you install Honeypot Anti-Spam, you won't need to include a pesky captcha on your WordPress site. The reason is that honeypot is completely invisible to visitors.
The honeypot anti-spam technique consists of a hidden field inserted by javascript in comment forms. A legitimate visitor never sees this field, and thus, never fills it out. On the other hand, spam bots detect it and fill it out, causing the comment or submission to be immediately classified as SPAM.
Honeypot Anti-Spam has no options or configuration settings. To make it work, you only need to install and activate it. That's it.
Installation
Install and activate the plugin from the WordPress dashboard.

Is the honeypot technique effective against spam?
Yes, it is effective against bots, although it does not work against manual spam. In any case, in 99.99% of cases, spam is done automatically by bots.

Honeypot Anti-Spam es un plugin antispam para WordPress que te permite proteger los formularios de comentarios mediante la técnica honeypot.
El uso de la técnica honeypot implica que, si instalas Honeypot Anti-Spam, no necesitarás incluir un molesto captcha en tu WordPress. El motivo es que honeypot es completamente invisible para el visitante.
La técnica antispam honeypot consiste en un campo oculto que se introduce mediante javascript en los formularios. Un visitante legítimo nunca llega a ver este campo ni, por lo tanto, a rellenarlo. En cambio, los spam bots lo detectan y lo rellenan, por lo que el comentario o envío se clasifica como SPAM de manera inmediata.
