Most down payment plugins assume you’re charging a deposit through a card gateway. EgyDevInfo Down Payment for WooCommerce is built the other way around: for stores where Cash on Delivery is the primary payment method, and the deposit itself needs to be collected through InstaPay, Vodafone Cash, Orange Money, Etisalat Cash, or any other mobile wallet common across Egypt and the wider Middle East — not through a card processor.
At checkout, the customer pays a deposit (a percentage or a fixed amount) through the payment method you configure, with clear step-by-step instructions and a one-tap WhatsApp link to send their payment proof. The remaining balance is collected in cash when the order is delivered. The order itself always stays On-Hold or Processing — never auto-completed — so the remaining balance is never forgotten by you or your team.
The plugin works with any checkout page setup, including WordPress’s newer block-based checkout — it detects that automatically and switches to the classic checkout experience for you, with no manual page editing required.

How It Works
The customer adds products to the cart and proceeds to checkout.
If the selected payment gateway is in the allowed list, the cart total is replaced with the down payment amount.
The customer pays only the down payment online.
The remaining amount is recorded on the order and collected upon delivery.
The order status is set to On-Hold or Processing — never auto-completed — so the remaining balance is not forgotten.
Gateway Compatibility
Cash on Delivery (COD) and bank-transfer gateways work best. Some online payment gateways may not support modified order totals. Always test thoroughly with your chosen gateway before going live.
