原文外掛簡介
Commervia AI Search for WooCommerce improves product discovery with a hybrid local-first search engine, instant AJAX results, search by image and relevance-weighted matching across your WooCommerce catalog.
Simple and structured product searches are resolved immediately against a dedicated normalized local index. Natural-language searches can show useful local results first and, when the administrator has enabled AI interpretation and configured a compatible provider in WordPress, optionally receive a second semantic interpretation that can refine or reorder the result set.
From version 1.0.6, image search and administrator-selected custom meta-key search are included directly in the free WordPress.org plugin. No separate Search Pro add-on or Commervia license is required.
Search features
Hybrid local-first search: common product queries do not wait for AI interpretation.
Instant AJAX product results while shoppers type.
Search by image using a camera/file button or drag and drop, with the uploaded reference image kept visible above the results.
Strict visual product-type relevance so secondary traits do not admit unrelated products.
Administrator-selected custom product meta keys can participate in matching and relevance.
Dedicated normalized product index for titles, categories, tags, attributes, SKU, EAN/barcode values and selected custom product fields.
Three text-query levels: direct, enriched and semantic.
Local previews can be refined by optional AI interpretation only when the query benefits from it. AI-interpreted text results include a short grounded reason explaining why each product matches.
Normalization for common spacing, plural and hyphen variations such as powerbank, power bank and plurals.
Candidate preselection limits full relevance scoring to the strongest local matches.
Adaptive debounce and cancellation of superseded browser requests.
Separate browser caches for local previews and final enriched results.
Relevance weighting for product titles, SKU and EAN/barcode values.
Matching across categories, tags, attributes, descriptions and configured product meta keys.
Exact, highly relevant and relevant result labels.
Quick product details directly from the search results.
A link to view the complete matching result set; pressing Enter does not submit the enhanced search.
Automatic enhancement of WooCommerce product-search forms.
Support for the WooCommerce Product Search block.
Mobile-aware positioning for search forms near the top or bottom of the viewport.
Configurable minimum characters, delay, result limits, cache duration and accent color.
Optional custom selectors for themes or search forms with non-standard markup.
Optional AI features
The text search remains fully functional without an AI provider.
From version 1.0.6, Commervia AI Search uses the AI Client built into WordPress 7.0 instead of connecting directly to a specific AI provider. The site owner chooses and configures a compatible provider centrally in Settings > Connectors. Commervia does not store provider API keys.
When an administrator explicitly enables AI query interpretation and consents to the external processing, the AI Client is used only when a text query benefits from semantic interpretation. Direct searches such as powerbank, cafetera or batería externa can remain entirely local. Product matching and selection still take place locally in WordPress.
Image search uses the same WordPress AI Client and requires a configured provider/model that supports image input (vision). It has a separate enable switch and separate administrator consent because a resized copy of the uploaded reference image is sent temporarily through WordPress to the configured AI provider for interpretation. The image is not sent to Commervia and is not stored by this plugin. The configured AI provider may apply its own usage charges.
Commervia AI
The settings screen contains a contextual link to Commervia AI, the broader WooCommerce suite from the same developer. This promotion is limited to the plugin’s own settings page. It does not create global admin notices, transmit store data to Commervia, create an account or change the functionality included in this free plugin.
External services
Commervia AI Search does not integrate directly with a specific AI provider. Optional semantic and image interpretation use the WordPress AI Client introduced in WordPress 7.0. The site owner separately chooses and configures an AI provider in Settings > Connectors. WordPress routes the request to a compatible configured provider and manages that provider’s credentials.
Semantic text interpretation
This is used only after an administrator:
configures a compatible AI provider in WordPress;
enables AI query interpretation; and
explicitly consents to external processing of search text.
Data passed through the WordPress AI Client for semantic text interpretation:
the text entered in the product search;
the site/search language; and
instructions/technical parameters required to request a structured search interpretation.
Image search
This is used only after an administrator:
configures a compatible vision-capable AI provider in WordPress;
enables image search; and
explicitly consents to external processing of uploaded search images.
Data passed through the WordPress AI Client for image search:
a resized JPEG representation of the uploaded product reference image;
optional search text entered with the image;
the site/search language; and
instructions/technical parameters required to request a structured search interpretation.
The temporary local image prepared for the request is deleted after it is read. The image is not sent to Commervia. The complete product catalog, WooCommerce orders and customer data are not sent to the AI provider. The provider response is used to extract product type, aliases, attributes and filters; final product selection runs locally in WordPress.
WordPress AI Client documentation: https://developer.wordpress.org/reference/functions/wp_ai_client_prompt/
The terms, privacy policy and possible usage charges that apply to AI requests depend on the AI provider that the site owner independently installs/configures in WordPress. Site owners should review the provider’s own documentation before enabling these optional features.
The Commervia AI promotional links in the plugin settings contact commervia.ai only when an administrator deliberately clicks them. Merely viewing the settings screen does not contact Commervia.
Privacy
The plugin stores its settings and a normalized product-search index in the WordPress database. The local index contains product search fields, including administrator-selected custom product meta values, and does not contain orders or customer data. Provider credentials are not stored by Commervia AI Search; they are managed by WordPress Connectors. Search responses may be stored temporarily in WordPress transients to improve performance. A functional language preference is stored for up to one year in browser local storage and the commervia_ai_search_language cookie. The plugin adds no telemetry or remote tracking.
